Located outside Hughesville, the Sportsmen have raised and stocked trout out of this location since early in its founding in 1961. This spring-fed nursery supports 4,500 trout and typically serves as the source for the Sportsmen’s pre-season stocking.
Named in honor of longtime member and former owner of the land where the nursery is located, volunteers support the nursery throughout the year, maintaining the facility and feeding the trout.
In summer 2020, the Sportsmen will begin a complete renovation to the facility, constructing a new nursery with an upgraded aeration system, covered raceway, and other improvements.
